The Street Tree is a blog by Paul Wood – this is me looking up at a giant Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) in California.
I’m the author of London’s Street Trees: A Field Guide to the Urban Forest, published in 2017, and London is a Forest to be published in 2019.
I live in London, I spent many years working in the technology industry, I was a trustee of London Wildlife Trust until 2017, and I am enrolled on the MFA programme at Goldsmiths University of London.
I’ve been interested in plants since I was 13 when a Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis) appeared in our back garden. Everywhere I go I find myself making mental notes about what’s growing and what might be growing, so this blog is my musings on nature, plants, landscapes and the environment.
Maybe we could collaborate on tree-related projects, have a look at this page.
